Yet another email address. Thanks to WesM for the hookup :)

The Scorpion King Sun Apr 28 16:44:06 CDT 2002
Well last night I went to see the Scorpion King last night Jander and Maeve (nope, no email address...hmm...maevebabe.com ? ;). Well, it was good. Not great, but fun. Corny, silly, reminded me ALOT of Conan the Destroyer. Same campyness, same violence. Not much plot (of course, missing the first 10 min might have something to do with that.) but plenty of hack and slay. Plus the Sorceress Cassandra was pretty yummy looking. I'd recommend it if you like Sword and Sorcery flicks.

Argh... Sun Apr 28 16:42:46 CDT 2002
I forgot that I didn't update news from home, so I wiped out the entry about loosing access. Fargin' script. Oh well...as you can guess, I lost connectivity on Tuesday. 3 days no net. *twitch* Oh well, at least I have it now :)

Vulpines Online Sun Apr 28 16:38:00 CDT 2002
Actually, we've been online since last friday. But I wasn't home much over the weekend, so I didn't post anything. The tech came out Friday around 2pm. Swapped modems (they're recalling my old modem) and fixed the junction box. Seems that someone with AT&T unplugged me during an audit. No reason, I wasn't suppost to be turned off. Argh ! But he plugged me back in, and I restarted my firewall...dhcp doesn't pull an IP. Try again, same thing. Swap cables. Nope. The tech plugs in his windoze laptop, same thing. After many, many reboots and restarts, we plug in my old modem, and voila...I have connectivity. So I was happy, though a tech will have to come out and setup a new modem sometime this year. Well, I hope to have moved by then. So I'm back, only had 1700+ emails to read when I got back online.

Young Vulpines in LoveMon Apr 22 21:44:53 CDT 2002
A few notes ago I said something about later news showing why I couldn't make the person I was talking about first in my life. Well, the reason is that the fox is in love. Have been for a while. But I've been keeping things mum. But, enough quietness, time to be happy.

WOOHOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She's a lovely lady I've known for years. We've been involved on and off for years. Because of issues with me and with others in our lives, it didn't get serious until some time ago. Now we are. She's not a geek, in fact I can cause her eyes to glaze over by talking shop. But she is very smart, very pretty, and very caring. (and yes, I'm very smitten.) She is also pagan, a High Priestess in AmTrad, and is also polyamorous. For those who don't know, polyamorous means having more than one significant other. I'm one of her partners, along with two other nice guys. Now, this doesn't mean that I'm being cheated on, or helping her cheat on someone else. We all know each other, and usually get along really well. Also I get along just fine with the issue of time...well mostly. Some times I'd like more, but that's human nature. What does this mean in English. Well, it means we spend alot of time talking (all of us). I see her alone some of the times we're together, sometimes as a group. It's like a big family, in fact that's how I look at it. My family. This includes Maeve's son, who is also my godsson. Yes, this gets complex ;) But I'm happy, she's happy, everyone is happy...so no worries. I'm planning on moving in the next few months to an apartment near her place, something closer than the half hour or so from my current location. So things will be a touch easier. If you have any questions about this, and I'm sure someone will, feel free to email me with your questions. Also feel free to check out alt.polyamory's FAQ to cover some obvious Q & A. And before you flame, just remember I am happy, and I don't care if you don't like how I live. :) Your just jealous ;)

Foxes in the Wild Mon Apr 22 21:16:40 CDT 2002
Had my first vacation in a long while this weekend. 5 days off away from IA, computers, phones, and anything else. I went camping at a big pagan event from Thursday til Sunday. It's called Council for Magickal Arts: Beltane . I had a really good time. Saw some friends I only see at these events, shopped a little, hung out with good people, spent alot of time helping with kidcare, and in general enjoyed myself. 4 days without geeking, felt kinda weird. Came home to a offical metric assload of email.

Then, just to add insult to injury, woke up, went out to lunch with some friends and my car was out of gas. Ok, the nearest gas station is only a few blocks away. Walk there, no jerry cans. bleah...walk a WHILE further and go to the next station, get can, get gas. Walk home, put the gas in the car, and go. Bleah. I hate stupid things, I knew I was at the border line yesterday, but I didn't want to mess with it...oh well, my bad. I so love to go to my car, and have it not start...panic time. :) But it's running fine now, so I'm happy.

I hate insane people !!!!! Mon Apr 22 18:26:45 CDT 2002
Well it's been a weird ass week...lets take the bad bit first. A good friend of mine became an ex-good friend of mine after a long drawn out email flame war. I'm not going into much details, other that it came about because she's not #1 in my life. Well, since she's 1000 miles away, and in a monogamous relationship...kinda hard and stupid to make her #1. Plus, due to some later news, it's kinda impossible. So we went from sad, to hurting, to angry, to just plain nasty. And, I'm sorry to say, got nasty back. She started attacking me in ways intented to hurt me, so I gave back as good as I got...as well as just plain laughing at her. Well, among out mutual 'friends' it looks like I'm a parriah, so actually I lost a few friends, but none of them really mattered. Oh well, and I doubt I'm going to DragonCon this year...unless I really just want to fsck with people. Oh well, life goes on. Makes me glad I'm on drugs, since this would have given me a bad mood swing. Instead I had a mild one, and got over it. Hurrah for me. Also, I didn't blame myself for this one...well other than not putting her first. Which is unworkable. Oh well, I'll miss her, but I don't need the BS.

Happy Tax Day :) Mon Apr 15 17:18:02 CDT 2002
I hope everyone got their taxes filed today...if not, the IRS will be knocking on your door. ;) Mine got sent, hoping I get my return soon, I need the money to move. :)

Ferret Insanity Thu Apr 11 14:40:48 CDT 2002
Been a long time since I posted about my Wacky Weasels. Not much they do I consider newsworthy, what can I say...I've had ferrets since I was 13, to me their tricks are all old hat. Until this morning... This morning I noticed my sable ferret, Shadow, playing with the waterbottle. Ok that's fairly normal. Well, except he was boxing with it. He was crouched on his haunches, and slapping it with his front paws. ,left right left right left right...like a boxer with a speed bag. Then he flipped on his back and did the same thing from underneith. Then back to speedbag. All this time Winter (the other weasel) is flopped over and staring at Shadow, like he's nuts...or nuttier than usual. Then they both noticed me moving and started the 'Hey boss, can we play can we play?!?' dance they do. I live with insane critters...and boy do I love it. Some day I'll be rich and then I can afford a full out ferret room for them to run and run and run. :)

KDE 3.0 Wed Apr 10 19:15:35 CDT 2002
Long time no read. I've been lax at posting, it's been a rather busy few weeks. Haven't done much geeking, well until last night. I updated to KDE 3.0. So far I'm fairly impressed, Konqueror runs alot smoother, with less headaches for SSL sites. I haven't played with much on KDE yet, only a few things in Konqueror, but I'll work on it more late. It was much easier to install than Gnome has been. Oh well, whatever works :)

Happy Coyote Day Mon Apr 1 11:04:44 CST 2002
Aka April Fools Day. Personally I consider this day sacred to Coyote aka Whiskey Jack, aka Old Man Coyote, aka That Damned Trickster. Go out there, tell some puns, make some jokes, play tricks on people...just mess with people's heads. It's good for you.
