So I've been quiet for a few days...shoot me ;) I've been very uninteresting
for a while. No new hardware, no new toys, not much of anything. Well, not
quite true. Actually I have a few things to report, and since I'm on day
ungodly of not sleeping, I'll have time to write it all out in detail. So
get ready for a long post.

| Six Mile Bridge | February 26th 2001 |
|
A week or so ago, I saw Six Mile
Bridge in concert. They are one of my favorite "Celtic Rock" bands. This
will be the third time I've seen them, and this was one of the best so far.
Good crowd, good energy, (not to mention the new mandolin player is kinda
cute ;). If you like your irish with a little rock and roll, give them a try.
It's worth it :)

| KVLP: all Vulpine, all the Time | February 26th 2001 |
|
Ok, no I haven't opened up my own radio station yet. But I am starting to play
with IceCast a little. In the mean
time, I uploaded a few mp3's and a playlist for your listening pleasure. Go
to http://cyberfox.org/KVLP/BoredFoxMix.m3u and give it a listen. A little bit of everything, and most
of it weird ;) I'll let you know when I change or update things. Eventually
it'll have it's own domain name, but that's when I have $$$.

| Comics | February 26th 2001 |
|
Well, Needo,
Dano, DevNull (of no real website) and myself decided to start an online
comic strip. I can't tell you much about it, other than it will have a grand
amount of humor and sillyness (hey, if I'm contribing to it, it's going to
have to.) As more is determined, I'll let ya know :)

Well as of 6am, CST on Feb 26th, I have processed some 2793 packets of data.
That's 5+ years of CPU time. Which puts me in top .502 % of users. Woohoo
for me :) I also ended up switching from Team Userfriendly to
Team
Blue Oyster Cult. Seemed a little more appropriate for a search for E.T.I.
(that and I'm rank 7 on Team BOC ;). So here's to my new pack of Alien
Hunters

Here's a good reason
to avoid finding love online...boy, makes my stories seem tame all in all.

| Oh My Gods ! He Finally Did It !!! | February 26th 2001 |
|
I'm a long time fan of Mandrake (AKA Geoff
Harrison, one of the co-creators of
Enlightenment. And in the time I've been reading his website, he has
talked about updating his website quite a few damn times. Never done it. So
I checked his website today, and OH MY GOD !!! He updated it ALOT. He even
included a list of his "Too Many Machines", which I have a sneaking suspicion
is in response to an email of mine which said "What the fsck do you do with
all those fscking machines ???!!!???" *grin* Thanks Mandrake, I like the
new website :)

| Screenshots | February 26th 2001 |
Well, one thing I've kept up on is screenshots...in fact I've done 4 of them
since the last update. So here they go...
- 02-20-2001
Ok...showing off my Sourceforge page.
No, I don't do much on SF, someday though. Also watching Futurama via
MTVP which is a nice little program for
mpeg watching.
- 02-21-2001
Mandrake's old page, plus Babyon 5
running under MTVP again. Plus a cute blonde from the Roswell TV show, and a
peek into my .procmailrc file. Death to SPAM !!!!
- 02-23-2001
Ok, this one has Raster's website
on the ol' netscape, showing off some of the new e17 stuff. It looks
rather snazzy. xmms and the first KVLP
playlist, plus fun trying to get Xine
working. But it's worth it, as you will see in the next screenshot.
- 02-26-2001
Last but not least, a retro wallpaper, my favorite Discordian shot. Along
with UserFriendly in netscape,
the Goddess Tara in Electric Eyes, and the end result of my strugle with
Xine...got Katie Holmes from her recent SNL showing doing a very nice dance
on stage (and on my monitor) :) Life is good with such beauties in the
world.

| Screenshot and BitchX is my Friend | February 15th 2001 |
Well I got bored, and decided to play around with BitchX.
I've now got it set and running with some new features. Multiple hidden
windows, each one in a seperate channel. Kinda cool. Kinda useless, but
still kinda cool. And along with BitchX boredom, I changed my wallpaper
around. Take a look at the
Screenshot
here. My usual stuff, but instead of Tara, we have Katherine Heigl as
background. You'll remember her from yesterday's news...cute chick from
the Roswell tv show and Valentine fame. Well I snagged this background from
Katherine-heigl.com
. What can I say, she's cute...though the purple is a little odd. Oh well,
so am I. *laugh* I like how this looks, though I'll probably change things
again in 24-48 hours. Blondes are nice, but I prefer redheads. :)
P.S. The webpage in the screenshot is a live view from the Transamerica
building in my favorite city, San Francisco. If you can't make out the URL
in the screenshot, it's
http://www.sfgate.com/liveviews/. *grin* Ahh the fun of SanFran, boy
would I love to live there...maybe someday. :)

| Happy Fsckin' Valentine's Day | February 14th 2001 |
|
Bah Humbug ! If you can't tell, I do not like this day. Not at all. Doesn't
help that I'm single on this day designed to make us single people want to
kill someone. Funny how listening to endless commercials saying we need to
buy diamonds/chocolate/lemmings for our significant others can make one a
touch bitter. *laugh* On the plus side, I spent exactly $11.25 today, all
on myself. Hey, I'm a cheap date. I went with
Needo, fellow single cynic and
proud founder of the DFWUFies Omega Males
to see
Valentine.
Your basic slasher flick, cute girls die because they picked on the nerd in
Jr High. As a ex junior high nerd, I can see the appeal in this movie. Not
to mention the cute girls. I give it two paws up...except for the fact that
the cutest one died in the first scene. That would be the character played
by Katherine Heigl of Roswell
fame. Oh well...can't have everything.

| No news is well...no news. | February 11th 2001 |
|
Well I haven't dropped off the face of the planet. Just been dealing with
a bad set of mood swings, lack of a job, and general pissyness. Not much to
report. Got a new screenshot up. Nothing major, just a return to the Goddess Tara, and
me screwing around on IRC.
|
|
| DFWUfies IRC | February 11th 2001 |
|
As I said, I've been screwing around more on IRC. Due to a small flurry of
silly posts...which just happened to kill a few mail spools...oops. Well, the
DFWUfies admin, and all around good
guy Needo setup a IRC server.
So join irc.dfwufies.org and come on in to #dfwufies. :) Or #cyberfox, if
I ever start it ;)

| Hannibal | February 11th 2001 |
|
Went and saw Hannibal on Friday. Now that was a flipped out movie. I liked
it, even if it was a little confusing. Gory in spots, but it fit the plot
quite well. The new actress playing Agent Starling was nice to look at, and
I think she fit the role better than Jody Foster. Hey what can I say, I like
redheads. :) I would like to read the book now. Vulpine gives it two
paws up.
