Well I've had a busy day, got up and went to the store to get food and
stuff. Came home and cleaned house, got alot done. Cleaned my fridge, took
out all the trash in the house, and cleaned out the bar area (which had
been a storage area. I didn't get the laundry done that I planned, didn't
get a chance to get quarters. So laundry day will be tomorrow. Tonight I'm
going to a friend's party. Hurrah for parties. :) Saturday night I'm going
to see a midnight screening of
The Princess Bride with the
D/FW Ufies List. Sunday I have to go
to training at work, blah...but I can use the OT. Hopefully it will be
useful training. Maybe I'll hit a movie afterwards. Something fun. We'll
see.

Well, my cable came back up...woohoo for me. :) I have also mastered
the magic of
Screen. So now I can open multiple bash sessions via one SSH connection.
Woo me :) 4 hours left of work, and I still have lunch and a break to take.
Hurrah. Then a nice calm weekend I hope. *crosses fingers*

Crazy thought I had yesterday, on the subject of reincarnation. A little
background on me, I do believe in reincarnation. No real idea on the
mechanics of it, but I do believe we come back...
But what if reincarnation was like the airlines. With Frequent Incarnation
points. "Ok, I'm schedualled to come back as a sales weasel, but I have
these points...can I upgrade to something better...lab rat ?" Get 50,000
points and get a free incarnation of your choice, subject to availability
and blackout dates ? If you are in a hurry to incarnate, do you sign up
for a a 'redeye' incarnation, or take connecting incarnations..."Hmm, if
I incarnate as a slug, then a rat, then a politician, I'll finally make
it to supermodel". Do incarnations get delayed ? And what's the terminal
like ?
These are things I ponder when my brain works...

Mail Call on TV

Well, I've seen a few movies in the last 2 weeks. Friday before last,
(aka the 14th) I saw I Robot
, which was more of "Attack of the Killer Imacs" than Asmiov's books.
But I liked it, it was fun and action filled. Could have been better,
but Will Smith will make most movies amusing at least.
Sunday, I got dragged to see
A Cinderella Story. Now I hate 'chick flicks'. I don't enjoy them and
generally I avoid them like the plague. But I was having a bad day moodwise
and got talked into it by Amythest,
and I was pleasantly suprised that I laughed like a loon. It was cute, and
fun, and fluff. But it helped my mood, and that was what I needed. Plus
the chick was kinda cute in the movie ;)
Skip ahead to last Friday, where we went to see
The Bourne Supremacy.
I haven't seen the first one, was going to this week but plans went south.
But I knew enough of the plot to make sense of things. The movie was soso,
they used alot of handheld cameras in the shots, so everything was jittery.
It's a neat trick in small doses, makes you feel more part of the movie.
But every scene being jittery made me feel well...dizzy. Other than that,
not much to say about it. Not one I plan on getting on DVD. Well, other
than Julia Stiles looked yummy ;)
Last night was another movie,
Catwoman. Now I went into this expecting a fairly bad movie. And I was
pleasantly suprised that it wasn't bad. Cheesy, yes. Plot holes, yes. But
fun as hell, lots of laugh out loud moments. Hally Berry played the roll
better than expected, especially in 'cat' mode. Looked like she spent some
time watching cats in general, and some of the previous Catwomen in movies
and TV. Not a movie for comic purists or people without a sense of sillyness,
but I liked it alot. And not just because of Catwoman in skimpy leather ;)
Well that's my movie reviews for the week. Next week, I'm hoping to see
The Village personally.
We'll see :)

Well, I got the websites back up and running. It only took reading a howto
on Apache2 SSI's and a free few minutes. Now to copy this ,htaccess file
that fixed the problem, so if things go borked again, I don't have to spend
time wrestling with it. Hurrah for me :)
In other geek news, I have
ATAThoth up and running, and the webcam page sorta working...well when
I feel like showing off my geeky bod ;) Moved desks around on Friday. Got
a slightly roomier apartment layout now. Going to ditch one of the desks
though. Just not needed and I need the extra room for bookshelves. But this
will be a while to finish. That whole money thing. Oh well. ;)
Not much else going on, seen alot of movies since the site went south, may
post some reviews later. Right now I'm going to watch TV and clean up the
mess in the living room. Laters. :)
