Sicko Fox Wed Jun 26 17:47:32 CDT 2002
I hate being sick. I have all this time to do things, but no energy to do any of them. I have a lung/throat infection. Which means everything hurts, including breathing. Well, I've gotten a few things done around here, changed how the website looks a little bit, fixed up the About Me page, and done some minor stuff around here. Need to work on Rhiannon's new computer tonight. See if I can make it live :) And get the webcam working ;) Not much else, waiting for all the good drugs to kick in. :)

New Email Wed Jun 26 17:18:16 CDT 2002
Thanks to my other email dealer, WesM for the actually #90 email. So I can't count, sue me.

#90 and counting... Tue Jun 18 11:23:08 CDT 2002
Well, my email dealer Jander hooked me up with my 90th email address. *grin* 10 more to make my goal of 100 by Summer's end. Aka end of August (even though summer doesn't end in Texas til October). So help out the fox...send me email addresses :)

The Vulpine-Mobile Mon Jun 17 21:29:44 CDT 2002
Ok, just to make up for the lack of posts, here's another useless fluff post ;) The Vulpine-Mobile (aka my 1996 Ford Contour cracked the 100k barrier while on my little road trip. This has been a damn good car, especially since I've put 70k + miles on it in the last 4 years. Hmm, I wonder if Ford still makes them...may get another one after I trade this one in.

Foxes at the Beach Mon Jun 17 19:31:23 CDT 2002
Well, this last weekend I got to go play down at Padre Island, Texas. For those of you who don't know Texas, Padre is down on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. I went with Rhiannon. Drove to Austin and stayed at her place Friday night. Saturday we got up early and drove down to Padre. Trip went well, save meeting a friendly State Highway trooper. Oh well, how bad can the ticket be...*whimper* But it was a nice trip other than that. Relaxing and fun. (Plus the very cute redhead in the bikini made for wonderful company.) I wonder what it's like down there in the fall, cooler weather and less people I guess, probably too cold for some people though ;)

Too Many Mp3's Mon Jun 17 17:35:58 CDT 2002
Ok, not too many...just 20,000 and some mp3's. Just a couple. Of months of continuious music. Yes, I am that big a music freak. :) I'm fairly sure that things will taper off though...I can't think of that many more albums I need...well, besides all the Rainbow, Led Zepplin and Boiled in Lead...to name a few... What can i say, I love music.

Geek Stuff and Cool things Thu Jun 13 13:47:27 CDT 2002
Well, it's been a while since I posted anything really geeky. Been working on two "new" servers at home, I basically rebuild my file server and dns server as a pair of fileservers.

First is Tempest, which is my mp3 server. I've got it on a seperate box to drop the load some, and just cause I can. Fnord, the generic file server will also be providing DNS and a few other toys. Eventually, unless I change my mind again ;) I'm just having fun playing with configs, and relearning the headaches of NFS again :)

Shorn fox. Wed Jun 12 17:10:21 CDT 2002
Well, kinda. I got a haircut yesterday. Yes I am that bored at work to post about haircuts. Amythest did the deed, and did a good job. I lopped about 4 inches off, which made my hair go up to about 2-3 inches past my shoulders, instead of lower back. And it looks alot better, no more dead ends or splits and knots. Plus I can comb it without having to take a two step approach. ;) Happy fox :)

Emails emails emails... Wed Jun 12 12:39:39 CDT 2002
Got another one, special thanks to Liss for the address. :)

Happy Birthday Thu Jun 6 15:20:56 CDT 2002
Happy birthday to Damien Thorn, aka the AntiChrist in the Omen series of movies. Yep, the little guy with the horns was born on June 6th, at 6am. ;) Yes, I'm feeling weird today :)

Enigma Tue Jun 4 11:13:50 CDT 2002
Hey, buy your own Enigma Machine. Now that's something I'd like to have running at home. enigma.cabal23.net ;) Hellacool :)

New Schedual Tue Jun 4 10:29:30 CDT 2002
Well, as of yesterday I started my new schedual at work. Going from 1pm til 9:30pm, to 10am til 6:30pm is a little odd...not sleeping well yet. *yawn* Work is dull, vaguely annoying. Finally had my 45 day review...200+ days late. I'm 'proforming according to expectations.' Which I'm not, most everyone is expecting me to go postal and clean out the NOC. :) Oh well...could be worse. I could be flipping burgers...of course, very few people yell and threaten to sue you when you flip burgers.

Emails :) Sun Jun 2 12:03:27 CDT 2002
Another email, this time thanks to Clint. :)

Speaking of Snowfox...as well as routers and SuSE 8.0 Sun Jun 2 02:53:42 CDT 2002
We have a new machine running here at Chez Cyberfox. Snowfox.cabal23.net, my experimental/abuse box. And well, since it's named after Rhiannon, you can probably guess I plan on abusing it alot ;) She's actually my old firewall server, with a new hard drive, more RAM, CD burner (that may work), and running SuSE 8.0. The install was a little problematic, started with installing off of DVD...kept failing for some reason. Ok, switch to CD, DVD wouldn't boot from it...ok, swap drives... install from CD on CD drive...works. Get it all installed. Start configuring...remember that SuSE is bad about installing the toys you need to complile from scratch...add stuff. First impressions of SuSE 8.0 ? It's an easy install, once you get past the stalls and crashes. Now the fact they got rid of my favorite update tool, and replaced it with a GUI that is pretty, but not very useable is annoying...but not unbearably so. So far I'm not super impressed, but not disappointed either. We'll see how it stands up over the next few weeks.

I said earlier that Snowfox is my old firewall box, reborn. Well, whats replacing it ? A Linksys Cable Router/Switch. Nice little router, acts as a DHCP server as well as firewall, router, etc...plus the switch is nice. Took about 15 min to configure once I plugged it in, and it allows port forwarding nice and easily. So I'm a happy fox. :) Now to figure out all the features...and pick up the wireless card upgrade, and slot one in my laptop...and I can geek from anywhere in the house. :) Ok, not anytime soon..but someday. I've been a busy busy fox.

snow-fox.org Sun Jun 2 02:51:30 CDT 2002
Well, I just got done with snow-fox.org, well done as in I got the pages all put together and filled in. All the links work, as far as I can tell. Used all the pics and files I was given. So I'm feeling pretty good, fastest page design I've ever done. Well, unless you count the webpage I did for Verio years ago...that took about 4 hours...but it sucked rocks. So I'm happy :)

Vulpine at the Movies Sun Jun 2 01:02:07 CDT 2002
Well, as is becoming par for the course on Saturdays, today was geeking and bad movie night. The geeking info will come later, but boy did I pick some weirdo movies. Two repeats, Evolution and Valentine. Nice, simple and fun. And two new movies... Legend of the Red Dragon aka Hong Xiguan zhi Shaolin wu zu. This is a Jet Li film, lots of flying kung fu masters, lots of really fancy martial arts chorography, a bit of a plot. But it's fun. The dubbing is rather bad, but most dubs are. (Never, EVER, watch Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon with English dub.) But, wires or no wires... Jet Li is pretty amazing.

Movie #2 is Voyeur.com. And yes, I got it for the title. Well, I am a bit of a voyeur, and I live on the internet...what would be better ? Well, so far the only thing this movie has for it is T&A. Makes Blair Witch Project look well produced. But I've seen worse...not much worse, but worse. :) I wouldn't recommend it, unless your really bored or you love making bad jokes though a movie. And not that many jokes ;)
