Hurrah for Four Day Weekends Thu Mar 31 18:28:50 CST 2005
Mood: relieved Music of the Day: TV on in the background
Hurrah for vacation time, and putting it to work. 4 day weekend, 4 glorious days of not being at work. Of dealing with things that are at most, tedious (housework), and for the most part, fun. Four days of not dealing with everyone else's crisis. And to help celebrate, I went out and bought The Lone Gunmen on DVD. *grin* I loved this show when it aired, it was the first series I watched, not on TV, but on the computer. But now, now I have them in glorous DVD goodness. *grin* So let the weekend of goodness... commence.

Nothing Says Easter... Fri Mar 25 16:16:38 CST 2005
Mood: Amused Music of the Day: Blue Oyster Cult - Burning for You
Like getting a rather large, solid chocolate rabbit from a customer... ye gods, my teeth ache to look at the thing...in a good way. Makes dealing with Miva shoppingcart software almost worth it.

Weekend Update Mon Mar 21 19:02:43 CST 2005
Mood: tired Music of the Day: Stargate SG-1 on TV
Well, I had a damn good weekend. Friday I felt like crud after work, and I was planning on just staying home and vegging. But, my friends didn't accept that answer gracefully, and I was talked into coming out. And I had a good time, watching Stargate SG1 episodes and generally BSing. Came home, watched a little TV and went to bed. Woke up Saturday earlish, headed over to Amythest's to meet up to go to the local natural history museum. The big thing was to see Aliens of the Deep on IMAX. Yes, the Cthulhu jokes were running wild, but it was still enjoyable even though the Big Squiddy didn't show. I love Imax movies, and the shots of 3 km deep dives were just amazing. After museuming, we headed back, watched Iron Chef, where suprisingly enough, the secret ingredient was squid. *snicker*

Afterwards we headed out to dinner at Jason's Deli, then off to see Robots. It was cute and funny, but the best part was the advertisement for Ice Age 2 starring the ssbertooth squirrel from the first movie. I laughed so hard I thought I was going to rupture something.

Sunday was grocery day, and lazy day...put together another video shelf. Need more movies now... *laugh* That evening I went back over to Amythest's and watched Tivo'd Stargate SG1 and Atlantis, then Iron Chef America. I'm not much for cooking shows, but I do enjoy the Iron Chef ones. A good time was had by all, save the pizza we ate didn't settle well at all. Came home, played a little City of Heroes, watched some TV and went to bed. Not enough sleep, but better than it could have been. Today, well today was an asskicker of a day. Exploding phones, people out sick, and everyone and there brother wanting me to fix things. *sigh* Oh well, the day is over...time to reset. Maybe I'll get some good rest tonight. Rest would be good.

Weekend Rambles Mon Mar 14 11:07:19 CST 2005
Mood: ok Music of the Day: Virgin Steele - I Will Come For You
Well, this last weekend wasn't quite as fun as the one before it. Friday, got off work after one major asskicker of a day. Not bad, just VERY busy. Go home, clean up a bit and head over to Amythest's for hotdogs and Stargate. And my sinuses revolt again...by the end of Stargate Atlantis I'm in a major amount of pain. Stagger home, take more drugs and a hot shower and try to sleep. Fail. Sit up, watch Mail Call and Battlestar Galactica, and by the end of Galactica I feel almost well. Stagger off to bed, sleep.

Saturday I woke up around noon, feeling much better. Putter around the house, go get some lunch, go visit Amythest for a few before heading into the salt mines. Do my 3 hours of phone monkeying (see previous post). ;) Leave work, go home, vege for a few, then head over to The Grim Squeaker's to watch movies and play games. Well first, the lot of us went to Steak and Shake for dinner, then back to watch Chopper Chicks in Zombietown. One of the worst movies ever made ;) (I'm sorry Techie and SugarFae...well not really.) Trivia note, this was Billy Bob Thorton's first movie role...poor man. Squeaker also showed us the rules for Risk 2035 (or something like that). Risk in space, with nukes. Looked fun, but alot more complex than regular old Risk. And no more turtling in Australia ;) Though turtling on the Moon looks to be an option. Have to try it some day when I have more than 2 brain cells to rub together.

Sunday was housework day, went and got ferret chow and came home. Stupid me, I let my bloodsugar drop badly so I had a nice moodswing in there. But I got past it, and rearranged my room a bit, cleaned up a bit. While I was doing that, I watched Exorcist: the Begining. It wasn't bad. It wasn't the first movie, but it would be very hard to beat the original Exorcist for scaryness. But it wasn't bad. Wish I'd seen it in the theaters, horror movies are better when on the big screen IMHO. Didn't do much else besides that yesterday, watched TV, babbled on the computer and went to bed way too late. Normal Sunday.

Working on a Saturday Sat Mar 12 17:07:14 CST 2005
Mood: bored Music of the Day: Sound of silence.
IS BORING !!!!!!!!!!

Hi. No, I haven't changed my schedual or job, just covering for the level 1 Windows techs while they have training. Only working 3 hours or so, not bad. Just dull. But hey, it's my good deed of the week.

*twiddles thumbs*

Bored, bored bored bored.

Busy Sunday Mon Mar 7 00:05:02 CST 2005
Mood: Good Music of the Day: 'Allo 'Allo
Had a very busy sunday, woke up late this morning. Got up, went to the store to get groceries for the week. Came home, made lunch, did laundry and watched Mythbusters. After lunch and TV, I cleaned house and cleaned out the ferret cage. I now have a fairly clean house and some happy ferrets. After that I headed over to Amythest's for dinner and watching TV. It was fun, we've made a habit of watching Iron Chef: America on Sunday nights. I'm not much for cooking shows, but this is alot of fun. One hour, 5 dishes, weird foods. Fun :) Came home after than, generally vegged. Now...I'm wide awake, and I have to be up for work in 8 hours. Bleah. Oh well, at least I have 'allo 'allo to watch while I don't sleep. *grin*

It was a very good weekend all in all, I usually have mood swings on Sundays, but not this week. Hurrah for me. Hopefully this week will be a good week. *crosses fingers*

Irish Fest and Other Good Things Sun Mar 6 00:17:22 CST 2005
Mood: very good Music of the Day: Mythbusters
Hey all, just got home a little while ago from a very busy day. Actually it's been a very busy weekend. Started at work on Friday. Busy day, lots of running around. But good, I got a digital camera that one of the sales people won. He already had a camera, much better quality. So he wanted to know if I wanted it. Sure. :) So I got a cheap little digital camera, generic camera with badly translated Japanese instructions. After getting off work, I came home and cleaned up, then Krzy (who's visiting from Kansas) came by to pick me up. We met up with a number of of the D/FW Ufies List at Olive Garden for dinner. From there we went to see The Pacifier. I liked it, it was silly and funny and cute. Not great, but I think Vin Diesel has a good presence for comedy. It made me laugh, and that's a very good thing. Came home from the movie, went to bed fairly early (for a Friday).

Saturday I got up, headed to Amythest's place to head out to the North Texas Irish Fest. Did a bit of shopping, saw a ton of people I knew. Me and Nymaz had a joking contest about how many people we'd run into we'd know. I won....23 to 5. *laugh* I know alot of people, and most of them are fans of the fest. Speaking of shopping, I spent WAY too much. But boy, did I get some good loot. Found a lovely fox print right off. I needed more decorations for my apartment. I also picked up a Cthulhu action figure from Toy Vault and a Lovecraft shirt for myself. Also got a present for a friend of mine. This, plus food and the cost to get in, well was way more than I should have spent. But it was fun. After NTIF, we went to the Cosmic Cup for dinner. Vegetarian food, but I had a nice milkshake and some soso soup. From there we headed back to Amythest's to watch Tivo'd episdoes of Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis. Funfunfun. Came home, checked mail and got a bunch of books I ordered from Ebay. Cthulhu and Conan books.

Tomorrow will be fairly dull, compaired to the rest of the weekend. Cleaning house. Cleaning ferret cage and litterboxes, doing laundry. Weeeee fun. But it will be good to clean up the house a bit. Then, back to the salt mine. But that's ok, I've had a good weekend, and life is pretty cool. Laters gators.

Long Update Thu Mar 3 16:38:01 CST 2005
Mood: Good Music of the Day: The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets - 20 min. of Oxygen
Long time no read. I haven't been in much mood for posting, been sick with sinus issues. Nice nasty sinus infection, making my head/face hurt. I hate sinus bugs, makes my whole face feel like someone hit me with a mallet. Slowly feeling better, hopefully in a few days I'll be right as rain.

So, what's happened in the last few weeks. Been to the movies a few times, saw Constantine a week ago last Friday. I liked it, but I'd never read the comic series, so I didn't have any expectations of the movie. It wasn't Shakespeare, but it was fun. Of course the fact it had Rachael Weisz as the female lead didn't hurt. And this last Saturday night I saw Hitch. Normally I don't like romantic comedies. But this was fun, Will Smith is one of my favorite comedic actors. And this was funny, not too heavy handed with the emotional angst that romantic movies tend to have. So that was fun.

Speaking of yesterday, it was a major comedy of errors. I woke up Saturday morning, still in pain. :( I was suppost to go to the zoo with Amythest. Well, after running an errand for my mom, I went over to her place and the skies opened up. And since the zoo isn't alot of fun in the rain. So, we decide to go to the Natural History Museum in Fort Worth. Great idea, it's alot of fun and their is a new Omni show. We get there, and there is a sign on the door saying the museum is closed. They were having a big fundraiser that day. Poor lady at the door was so apologetic, oh well we'll go another day. After that we went to visit Nymaz. He had this cool movie about the Hindu creation myths, but I felt so lousy I fell asleep 10 min into the movie. Made for strange dreams, Indian mythology dialog mixed with my subconscious. After that we went over to see Hitch as I mentioned above.

On the City of Heroes front, I've been playing a new character alot. For those who don't play CoH or don't like rambling about superhero characters, feel free to skip ahead. For the rest of you, I got bored a while back and created a new character in case my primary server was offline. Mr. Chupacabras. Ya, I made a little green spiney guy running around. Another scrapper (close in fighter) but with spines instead of a katana. He's fun to play,

Also, The Grim Squeaker and Nymaz and SugarFae have been trying to get me to play Worlds of Warcraft. I went and tested it a few days ago, and it was fun. Alot more complex than CoH, which is both a good thing and a bad thing. Complex = more interest. Complex also = more brain cells to play. I like just beating up on bad guys and running around. We'll see if I switch.

Not alot else, lots of foo at work. Not all bad, but it has made for a busy few weeks. The flu is going around, so we've been short handed. But that seems to have ended. Hopefully the rest of this week will be nice and calm. Well, one nice thing happened. I got a DVD player for 'going above and beyond.' Which is nice, always good to recognized for the amount of poo you deal with. And it plays VCD's, which my current player does not...so woo for me. Now I want to get a cheap little TV for my bedroom, so I can veg out in bed.

Next weekend is North Texas Irish Fest, that should be fun. Been going to this event for years, it's alot of fun...and maybe we'll have good weather for it...we'll see.

Ok, that's enough babbling I think...time to post this puppy ;)
