The Muse Went Down To TexasSung to the tune of Devil Went Down to Georgia, by Charlie Daniels.
The Muse went Down to Texas, she was looking for a poet to inspire She was in a bind, she was full of rhymes and she looking for someone to afire... When she came across this young witch writing in a book and making it feel The Muse leaped up out of a icetea cup And said 'Girl let me show you what's up' I bet you didn't know it but I'm a poet too if you care to take a dare, I'll make a deal with you Now you make pretty good rhyming Jade, but give Calliope her due... I've a pen of silver, against your liver that says I'm better than you. The witch said "My name's Jade and it might be dim, I'll take you deal, your gonna squeal, Cause I'm the best that's ever been." Jade polish up your pen, and write your rhyme well Cause the Muse down in Texas and Calliope sets the tone And if you win you get this shiny pen imade of silver, and if you loose....Calliope gets your...liver.... The Muse opened up her book and said lets start this then.. Light flew from her fingertips and she inked up the pen And she pulled her pen across the page, and it made a magickal sound And a bunch of nymphs appeared and they sounded something like this (Insert cheering nymph sounds here) When Muse finished Jade said, 'Well your pretty good ol Gal, But sit down in that chair right there and let me show you how it goes... (spoken) Then Jade was struck by lightning. The Muse snapped her fingers and she grinned at Jade's feet, (The rest of Jade's body was glowing with heat) Calliope said "Jade you reincarnate once again, I done told you once you little witch, I'm the best that's ever been :) ![]() |
